Yesterday, after reading all of Secret Six, I made the following comment, "Man, that guy knows how to write for girls."

If you happen to be the type who always checks the writer's name, you know why my statement is dumb. Secret Six is written by Gail Simone, and from now on she is getting the Paul Dini treatment. Meaning that I am going to bitch if she disappears for any given reason because I look forward to her writing that much. Same thing goes for Secret Six artist, Jim Calafiore.

This made me realize I'm guilty of assuming that the writer and artist for any given comic are male. Maybe it's tagging thousands of images and finding few female artists among them, or maybe it's knowing no other female comic geeks.  Good news is, I will never make the mistake of not looking at the cover before commenting again.
